Plant and dams have a proposal of $275 million

A House-Senate conference committee has endorsed about $275 million for the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and area locks and dams.

U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell said the money is in the Energy and Water Appropriations Conference Report to be voted on by Congress. Included are:

$121.8 million for cleanup at the Paducah plant, $57 million for a project to recycle spent uranium hexafluoride and $3 million for worker health monitoring.

$63 million for the Olmsted Lock and Dam construction.

$29.9 million for the Kentucky Dam lock construction.
