DR JACK IN JAPAN BID
Thursday, April 19, 2001
COPELAND MP Jack Cunningham will press the case for more Sellafield business in Japan next week.
The situation at Sellafield is said to be "desperate" as BNFL waits for the British government to licence its £400 million Mox fuel production plant.
Lucrative Japanese orders for the plant were put on hold following the Mox fuel data scandal.
While in Japan to address an international atomic conference, Dr Cunningham will meet the country's leading nuclear players and some politicians.
