(IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO) -- The Eastern Idaho Regional Development Center has another two-Million dollars to work with this year. Governor Dirk Kempthorne gave the money to the center yesterday so it can help eastern Idaho residents be less dependent on the INEEL. The money is part of 14-Million dollars in funding paid to the state by the federal government after it signed a nuclear waste agreement with former Governor Phil Batt in 1995.
