Repository design meeting in Beatty - June 29-30

The Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board will meet in Beatty June 29-30 to review Dept. of Energy analysis comparing possible designs of the Yucca Mountain Project. Scientific studies related to the characterization will also be reviewed.

Yucca Mountain, 20 miles east of Beatty, is being studied as, the possible site for the permanent storage of high level nuclear waste.

An informal gathering designed for interaction with the public will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. June 29 in the community center. Board meeting sessions begin at 9 a.m. June 29 and 9 a.m. June 30 in the community center.
