The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste has scheduled a meeting February 23-25 in Rockville, Maryland.

Topics to be discussed include the Department of Energy's viability assessment on Yucca Mountain, waste research, the high-level waste repository design, and a meeting with the Nuclear Energy Institute -- an industry organization.

Those wishing to make oral statements should notify the Chief of the Nuclear Waste Branch, Richard Major, (301-415-7366) in advance. Other aspects of the meeting, including an opportunity for public comment, will be described in a forthcoming edition of the Federal Register.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in Room T-2B3 of the NRC's Two White Flint North Building at 11545 Rockville Pike. It will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day and continue until 6:00 p.m. on February 23-24, and until 4:00 p.m. on February 25.
