(IDAHO FALLS) -- Scientists will begin to test core samples taken from an underground waste dump at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory. Twenty metal tubes were sunk into the one-acre burial field known as Pit Nine. That's where radioactive and toxic waste from the nation's nuclear bomb production is buried. The test samples will help the site contractor determine the best way to get rid of the contamination.
