(HARRISBURG) -- It's a done deal. The first outright sale of a commercial nuclear power plant in the U-S has been finalized. A British and American partnership is paying 100-Million dollars for United Number One at Three Mile Island, near Harrisburg. The plant is being purchased by AmerGen, a cooperative venture of Philadelphia-based PECO Energy and the British Energy Company. The deal does not include Unit Number Two at Three Mile Island, which was damaged during an accident 20 years ago. G-P-U will continue to own that unit. Last week, AmerGen completed a deal to buy a power-generating station in Illinois, and is negotiating to buy three other U-S nuclear power plants.
