Rocky Flats To Close - (DENVER) -- U-S Energy Secretary Bill Richardson says the Rocky Flats nuclear waste disposal site will be closed by the year 2006. Radioactive waste will be shipped from Rocky Flats to New Mexico's Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Last week, Richardson met with the governors of states with either nuclear plants or disposal sites and hammered out a time-table for cleaning them up. Colorado Governor Bill Owens and the governors of Washington, South Carolina and Tennessee attended the meeting.
