Addresses DOE Responsibilities Mandated by Law
The 1985 Low-Level Radioactive Waste Policy
Amendments Act gives responsibility for disposal of GTCC
LLW to the Federal Government.
GTCC LLW is not generally suitable for near-surface
disposal except on a case-by-case basis as determined by
the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The total expected volume of GTCC LLW through the year
2035 is 2000 m3.

Identify waste acceptance criteria
Identify a fee structure for disposal of GTCC waste
