The Low-Income Housing Trust Fund was created to provide the State of Nevada with a source of matching funds, if needed, for the Federal HOME Program and for the acquisition, construction, or rehabilitation of housing for eligible families by public or private nonprofit charitable organizations, housing authorities or local governments through loans, rents, or subsidies.

Funding comes from a portion of the Real Estate Transfer Tax as well as earnings on current fund balances.
